For economic development organizations, Kirsten conducts strategic planning and technology cluster analysis and implementation services; she also develops and delivers training programs that build organizational capacity in technology transfer, technology scouting, and market intelligence. She received an MBA from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
